A: September 27−October 3, 2015 is Banned Books Week!
Since its inception in 1982, Banned Books Week has reminded us that while not every book is intended for every reader, each of us has the right to decide for ourselves what to read, listen to or view. Thousands of libraries and bookstores across the country will celebrate the freedom to read by participating in special events, exhibits, and read-outs that showcase books that have been banned or threatened. The librarians started thinking about Fall, and suddenly we were craving apples! The books on display are inspired by popular apple idioms, such as "The Big Apple" and "The Apple of My Eye". Come up to the second floor and take a look! We have a wide range of books on this display, from health and fitness, to baking to mysteries. To learn more about apples.....
It's that time of year! September is full of hope as kids, teens and adults head back to school, where the possibilities are endless. In celebration of a new and (hopefully!) successful academic year, check out these books inspired by both teachers and students!
