One Book, One Town 2026
This year’s One Book, One Town selection is Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books by Kirsten Miller — a sharp, timely, and darkly funny novel that explores censorship, community power, and the enduring importance of access to ideas. Kirsten is coming to Westwood on Thursday, March 19 for an author talk!
One Book, One Town 2026 Events
Throughout the month, everyone is invited to take part in a dynamic series of programs examining the history and impact of book banning. Events will include a screening of the documentary The Librarians, expert-led talks on the history of censorship and intellectual freedom, facilitated community discussions, a spirited Banned Books Trivia Night, and a community book swap celebrating the freedom to read.

What is One Book, One Town?
Officially relaunched in 2025, Westwood Public Library’s One Book, One Town series invites the community to come together to read the same book and explore its major themes with discussions and interactive programs, and a visit from the book’s author.
One Book, One Town seeks to build community, connect people across Westwood, and break down barriers of isolation and loneliness. It is also, simply but, a really fun and social way to get the most out of reading book. So, let’s read together!
